On April 20th at 4:20 PM, over 500 students, camping in anticipation of the upcoming time, lit up in a mass of smoke that hung over the green. Some brought by their friends, others by #occupy420, and others in the spirit of getting high and protesting the law.
It was at 4:26, only six minutes after the mass of students toked up, that police officers showed up on the scene. Five officers, sweeping down the Redstone green, set the crowd in alert. Hundreds of students rushed up, walking back inside their dorms. The smoking was almost entirely curtailed moments after it began.
No one is known to have been arrested at the event yet.
